Digital Paintings and Drawings

Art will always remain a vast subject and my work is only a tiny part of a limitless universe. Inscribed in this approach, it is the witness of a past and the actor of a present. What would we be without the hindsight on our history and the view of our world. The Renaissance opened the doors. Since then, the expressions, the means, the subjects have allowed thousands of investigations.
Digital painting is a new renaissance in the continuity of classical painting. I try to use its technique and content through form, perspective, color, with the power of a computer, a graphics tablet or even a phone. The software offers copies of brushes, markers, pencils, aerosols on virtual supports paper, canvas, fabrics, all while managing flat tints, lines, thicknesses, pressures, transparencies. Working on layers that blend and multiply, isolating parts or changes in scale, looking for visual emotions in a classical writing, my work sets up a universe where my imagination finds a way to flourish.
Endless imagination based on composition, structure, variation, repetition, color, perspective, subject, the unconscious, realism, collective imagination, symbols.
Each of its points being for me a wealth of expression that allows me to open my production in all directions. The tool must not bend to the ease that it presents at first glance but be used with rigor for its creative power. My creations are the result of applied aesthetic work whose limits are those that I decide. They are not a graphic design like all the images that we consume but they are a pictorial continuity without oil, without acrylic, without spray can. My digital painting is the painting of the Cloud as can be street art for the street, or a lunch on the grass from more than a century ago. My research goes in this historical direction by introducing scale. It is a painting that goes towards the infinitely small, like the infinitely large. It is also a painting that uses light in color. All these directions, totally new, shake up the codes of traditional artistic representation.
This is the trouble of digital painting.
It can be in a small frame on a living room wall or on the entire wall. Its reproduction on new supports such as Aludibon, canvas, acrylic glass gives it a quality of material that the subjects accompany.
We are in a real “new” expression.
My research focuses on several axes. Graphics, abstract or realistic deformation, color and the perception of space with its perspective structuring. For me, the eye must be able to be guided in an emotional reading or everything can telescope. My production is therefore very varied, orchestrated by the historical engine of painting. The starting point is always a white screen with my hand and its pencil. A graphic stain will constitute the starting point which will be modeled to give an idea, a subject, a detail and stop on what I call a digital painting.
